how does wonder boys end? (I think this definately means that the movie fits the category because i remember laughing at a lot of it and thinking it was funny, yet I can't remember the ending at all.)

Toby (whatever his char name was) ends up with Crabtree and is going to get published, Grady ends up with the Chancellor and she has the Baby. Grady's epic novel blows away into the wind. I guess OP would have preferred Grady plummeting to his death over the banister.

From what I can recall the ending of the movie is close to the ending of the book
