Can\'t access FTP

Tried to log onto FTP today and get told I need to download an update. I get 89% through every time and then it stalls.

Downloading the client from the website also stalls 2.25MB in without fail. So pretty much now I can't access FTP.

Anyone else had a similar experience and can help me out?

I just logged on with no problems. There was no update to be downloaded.
