Default winning players VP$IP?

Im having a terrible time keeping the money I make on PLO lately. Ill start playing 6 handed 1$ & 2$, never playing more than 2 tables at a time, be down 40-50 BB, then an hour later Im up the same ammount, then down 80-90 BB's a few hours later.

So Im looking to plug holes in my game.

My question to those of you who are consistently winning at PLO; whats your VP$IP?

I think VP$IP is a very unimportant stat for PLO, especially 6-max. It's all about how you play post-flop. I think a good player could easily play 100% of their hands and still beat the game. Not that a good player would do that, but they could.

And if you're talking about 90 big blinds when you say BB, that's a tiny amount to worry about. On one of my tables tonight, I went from down 4 buy-ins (400 big blinds) to up 7 buy-ins (700 big blinds). PLO's a swingy game, you're just going to have to get used to it.

Most will aggre with you, but I would modify your statement somewhat. Yes, there are winning players that have wildly different VPIPs, and they probably all share the same characteristic of being able to play very well postflop. However, a beginning player will want to pay attention to their VPIP per position. The absolute numbers will vary here also amongst winning players, but I think most would agree that you will want to play more hands from the button and late position (and for more preflop raises).

For example some 6max numbers:
Button: 38 VPIP (17 PF)
1: 33 (14)
2: 31 (10)
3: 33 ( 8)
BB: 14 ( 2)
SB: 46 ( 2)

These stats are mostly from passive games with a lot of preflop limpers, so that is why the SB is so high. I probably could eliminate some of the SB complete-limping. And in a tougher game, I probably want to play fewer hands from 2 and 3 positions.

4-6 handed Im 43.5% vpip (24% raise), 6handed only Im 36% vpip (15% raise). Ive toned down a bit so I guess my 4-6 hand stats drops a little.

Im not using PTO much but that my stats anyway.
