Default 200NL | AA 200BB deep vs. check-raise by TAG

Vava questioned my play on this hand in the cheese thread, so I figured I'd post it here. I think we can forget that the results were already posted in the cheese thread.

Villain is 28/15/6.6 over 165 hands. We have quite a bit of history already. On another table he was two to my left, and he was 3betting my UTG/HJ opens from the Button a ton, until I 4bet him twice. He's slowed down now somewhat. If he's observant, he probably knows I'm slightly tilted.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com

Button ($106)
SB ($276.80)
BB ($576.05)
Hero ($421.80)
MP ($172.30)
CO ($107.70)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

I think this is standard assuming there is no recent history of a pissing contest in which case I push somewhere.

I think river is a fold. Nearly every time Ive put in 200bb with an unimproved overpair I have regretted it.

I think you can fold this river most often.

Against a semi-sane player, his most likely hand range is typically weak overpairs like 88 and the like on the flop/turn, plus maybe a 5. I don't think many players will fire the river unless they are overly aggro with those types of hands. I don't really think QQ+ is there given PF action. So, I think he has air or a 5 by the river.

I wouldnt say that I always fold here, just that in theory, its probably the best thing to do imo. Though I know I call alot here. If he's pretty LAGGy and such and can make this move with a 6, I would prob call...but you have to go with your gut.

He hasnt put in 200BB, only 100BB.

Only hand that that has you beat is 77 (or 55). He could easily do this with overpairs.

River seems close though - but I call due to his aggression

womble,
I think that there are a few more combos of 5 out there, (ie. 65s/75s/77/55/A5s/etc etc etc).

The flop line just makes no sense if he has a five, but then a lot of people are stupid. Alternatively, he may think "aha, he's on tilt, let's annoy him with a check raise with my quad fives" or whatever.

This looks fine to me though. He's very aggressive, he could have practically any overpair here.

I'm 3-betting this flop all day. The range of hands we are scared of is very limited. 77 or a random 54s/56s? I reraise it to 100$ and if he pushes back over the top (which I would not expect to happen very often) I think I'd have to lay it down.

As played, I think he's shown too much strength throughout the hand, fold river.

I like it, but think the river is a fold. This guy could be C/Ring the flop w/ air, but I think we can rule that out when he fires again on turn and certainly river.
