Default ($5.50) Floating with middle pair, AI turn

I posted this in the SSNLF to see what they thought. Villain hasn't been particularly aggressively preflop. I obtained a huge stack early stacking off with AA against KQ but lost alot of it back with KK against 88 which caught a set on the flop.

fold flop, fold turn, no need to have this FPS, just play stright forward especially at the 5.50s

Actually, I never think about FPS when I make these types of plays. I don't float very often, but when I do, I've had alot more success with this move than failure. I look at alot of factors when I choose this play like villain's aggressive and looseness level, whether I feel I can actually bluff my opponent off a possible better hand (which I did, considering he saw me win and lose big hands with AA and KK earlier), blind to stack ratio, whether draws are present, etc.

Do you ever consider the fact that you're in a $5 sng and all you have to do is fold to win?

No, because folding and winning is a big fallacy that alot of people have and it doesn't happen nearly as often for it to be viably profitable or make up for when bad variance trumps solid play.

I can find TONS of hand histories where I play 1 or 2 hands and get ITMM with <1500 chips.

People suck, and don't know what the bubble is.

Don't deviate from STTF standards and you will absolutely crush the 5.50s.

If you have a problem making this decision, then you should just fold this hand from the BB, pre-flop, and only play group 1 hands. Ever.
