Default PL 3D , Push made 8s?

Im new to 3D. I usually buy in short and wait for opportunities to get it all in with a made hand. I'll usually pat a 9 or T, early in a session to get callers. This seemed to work at first, but lately my 87s and 86s seem to get beat close to 1/2 the time. (often by an opponent drawing 2 with 2 draws left.)
It seems like the chaser should be far behind, even with 8 outs.(most of the time it is less, as I am holding 1 or 2 of the needed cards in my hand.) Am i missing something? It seems like I should be winning closer to 2/3 or more of these hands.
Any odds calculators for 3D out there?
