Don't have the hand history at work, so sorry about the rough format.
I'm in the late position, it gets about 4 customers and I've called a smallish raise with KQJJ, double suited. Flop comes K Q 5, rainbow. It's checked to me, so I pot it. UTG calls, everybody else folds. ~10 dollar pot, I've got about 16 behind, similar stack to UTG. Turn is an Ace, no flush possible. UTG checks, I bet $4, UTG thinks for a longish amount of time, then calls. River is a 9, UTG checks, I check behind. How many people would've fired another shot on the river here? I was pretty sure UTG made aces up on the turn. I tried to represent broadway, but it didn't look like UTG bought it, and I was drawing pretty thin. Obviously, if UTG didn't have a straight of some sort, the board's got to look very scary for him. Maybe I should've bet more on the turn? |

Yes... the size of the turn bet isn't good. When you bet pretty much in proportion to the actual strength of your hand, you encourage your opponents to play correctly. I think you need to take the free card or pot it. I would tend towards just taking the free card... $25 PLO8 there are still too many people who lean towards calling incorrectly rather than folding incorrectly (esp. on later streets), so it's still better to beat people up with the nuts rather than try for the big steal like you did here. But if you wanted to try to steal anyway you needed to pot the turn.

The underbet on the turn smells too much like a draw in one direction only. Any made high hand should have potted to charge the low draw. Any decent draw in both directions probably should have considered potting as well. Given the underbet, any river bet here that you could make would be viewed with suspicion.
I'm weak-tight, but I would have checked the turn and crossed my fingers for the four guaranteed outs or four outs that were probably 80% good here, assigning 20% chance that villain had A2Kx, (A3Qx etc.) and was hoping to put in a check-raise. |

This looks like the worst turn and river lines EVER!!!! Just pot the turn and you won't have to worry about the river cause you're getting it in. As played, put a bet in on the river, something he can call with aces up.

You confuse me?
I've lost on the turn. Why would I want to bet the river and have him call with aces up? That hand beats my Kings and Queens. |
