Default Going to a football game alone

I've posted about this in X-Mas presents threads in a couple forums but I'm actually seeking some advice about it. My dad, awesome guy that he is, has a tendency to sort of "goof" on christmas presents. This year he got me one (1) ticket to see the redskins this saturday. The skins have no chance at the playoffs and really, to my knowledge, no other compelling reason to watch them play.

My question is: Has anyone went to a football game by themselves? Is it as boring as I imagine? Is there any way to cure the boredom? I can't just not go, I think he has some contact with the people he bought the tickets from (on ebay) and will e-mail them to see whether I enjoyed it or not. So what's the best way to make the most out of the experience?

Agreed. I went to a Colorado Rockies game by myself, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Beer was probably the main reason for that though.

I've found going alone on the road to be a lot of fun. This is at college games and in my team's section. Being a few surrounded by the many, you quickly make friends with whoever is sitting by you. Kind of sucks for tailgating and such, but the game itself is a lot of fun, particularly because it's a different experience.

Of course, if you don't have a strong rooting interest, if it's at home, or if you are in the opposing team's section, none of this applies.

It sucks a little bit, but you can quickly make friends around you.

I've never gone to a football or baseball game and not left after making at least 2 friends in my section.

If you don't enjoy football, it won't matter how many people you're with. If you like football, it doesn't matter how few people you're with, even if that number is zero. It's more fun with other people, of course, but fans are fans and most will "adopt" singles, both for tailgating and inside the stadium.

I read this again and see that the grammar and syntax of this sentence is horrible. What I am trying to say is this:

When I go to ball games I always make at least 2 new friends in the section.
