$20,000 from $1
I read an article in Bluff mag stating that Jesus Ferguson made 20 grand from a buck online in 6 months. Is there any validity to that? What would be the strategy in going about something like this? (Granted, Chris is a professional player and has more time than a regular working Joe.)

Re: $20,000 from $1
Seems completely plausible.
I turned $100 to $17k in 12 months. I'd barely played any poker at the time of my $100 deposit. Seeing how Jesus is a pro, it seems like it'd be a breeze. |

the only issue would be running well at the beginning.

Re: $20,000 from $1
I started my poker bankroll with $1.11 by selling play money chips at PokerStars (I was actually scammed, they were supposed to send 10 times as much). My total earnings after almost 2 years of part time play is close to $10000.
You don't need to run all that well at the beginning (the real key is to avoid running bad), but I admit that I was helped when some guy stepped into the penny stakes LHE with literally $2000 and proceeded to cap every single hand. It didn't take long to make $5 off of him, TYVM. That said, I had a lot of scares before finally geting over $100 permanently. |

Re: $20,000 from $1
More than a few of us made our starting bankrolls off the Bugsy Point freerolls after earning enough points to cash them in and start playing for real money. I earned enough for $20 the first time, which I worked up to $100 before busting getting too aggressive with the stakes I played at. Second time I was more cautious and haven't looked back.
If I can do it, Jesus certainly could. |

the only issue would be running well at the beginning. [/ QUOTE ] certainly some truth there. According to his interview in Bluff about this, he had Annie Duke transfer the $1 to him. He actually busted-out the first time and had to have her transfer another $1. So he actually went from $2 to $20k. |
