10/20 stars deepstacked 3 way, weird preflop spot with AA
POKERSTARS GAME #7333434402: HOLD'EM NO LIMIT ($10/$20) - 2006/12/06 - 23:47:19 (ET)
Table 'Medea III' 9-max Seat #3 is the button Seat 2: Jenn415 ($4373 in chips) Seat 3: Daut44 ($5360 in chips) Seat 4: twin-caracas ($4848.50 in chips) Seat 5: Eagle2667 ($1048.50 in chips) Seat 6: tjbentham ($704 in chips) Seat 7: DennyKrane_1 ($1278.50 in chips) Seat 8: seeker2004 ($1988 in chips) Seat 9: chunmin ($2404 in chips) twin-caracas: posts small blind $10 Eagle2667: posts big blind $20 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Daut44 [As Ah] tjbentham: folds DennyKrane_1: folds seeker2004: folds chunmin: folds Jenn415: raises $60 to $80 Daut44: raises $160 to $240 twin-caracas: calls $230 Eagle2667: folds Jenn415: raises $560 to $800 Note the stacksizes and who is left to act behind me. Im playing fairly loose aggro for a full ring game, at about 24/17 (and about 18/15 for all the hands jenn has played vs me), and I ran a big bluff against Jenn but didnt have to show it down (hand below), and won a few other pots, including a river call with A high which was good. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/111312 I have played against Jenn at 5/10 a good amount, seems like a good player, and also seems out to get me for being aggro, and might be especially so for the hand we played earlier on this table. She plays sort of loose/passive for full ring standards preflop then gets more aggressive on later streets. Her stats are 23/8 pre, but her AF on the flop is 3.6 and on the turn is 5.7. And im sure everyone knows about twin. The question is am i losing money if i flat call here knowing twin will call with whatever he has and im getting it all in on almost any flop? What is your move at this point? |

yeah i like a call here w. plans of shoving 90% of the flops. even if twin does have a small PP and knows you or jen has AA and will stack off on every flop he isn't even getting good enough implied odds.
i mean, of course you could re-raise it again here but how often are you doing that as a bluff? |

Re: 10/20 stars deepstacked 3 way, weird preflop spot with AA
he is calling 560 to win 4850+800+240+20 or approximately 5900 assuming jenn check folds. definitely has implied odds with a small pocket pair if im stacking off.

i look at it this way:
Seat 4: twin-caracas ($4848.50 in chips) he has to put in $800 preflop (about 1/6 his stack) |

Re: 10/20 stars deepstacked 3 way, weird preflop spot with AA
he already has 240 in though.
he has to call 560 more. jenn has 800 in. there is 4850 in my stack mirroring his 4850, the money of mine which is effectively his if he stacks me. so he is calling 560 to win my 4850, jenns 800, his 240 and the big blinds 20, or roughly 5900. |

Re: 10/20 stars deepstacked 3 way, weird preflop spot with AA
I re-raise this almost 100% of the time, your not even 100% sure if your going get the other player to call if you smoothc.
It looks like Jenn has KK/QQ and is wanting to get it in, go with the non-variance play, ship it hollaaaaaa |

Re: 10/20 stars deepstacked 3 way, weird preflop spot with AA
ok so it's like a breakeven call if he knows for a fact someone's got AA and will stack off. i'm assuming you guys are both pretty agro esp deepstack so its not 100% of the time someones got AA here but it is v likely that someones got QQ+
with that said i would still probably smoothcall because: how often do you re-raise here as a bluff? if never then your opponents will play optimally which is bad. if you guys were each say 500bb deep then I think you may be forced to come back over the top so that twin doesn't get implied odds to call with a set draw. but as is i think it is very marginal to -ev for twin to call w. small PP here planning to fold every flop except those where he hits a set |
