Default Simple War Bookie Line

Israel vs Great Britain. No nukes allowed. No other countries (eg Canada) can get involved.

Not so simple when you don't mention where the war will be fought.

edit: After 10 mins of research in which I found out that Israel has no landing boats, destroyers, and most importantly 0 aircraft carriers, I think GB is a huge favorite. Both have the same amount of aircraft but GB has 2 aircraft carriers as well as the capacity to land ground troops in the region while in a total war without nukes Israel would have a very hard time invading an island.

If it is a fight to the finish then britain is the nuts. Neither side would currently be able to knock the other side out (without nukes). But britain has a stronger navy, and has more ability to aquire more/better weapons than they currently have, so britain wins the war eventually.

GB's military budget is currently 4 times that of Israel and they have over 10 times the amount of money available to them. Modern day warfare relies so much on technology, and tech costs $$$. GB 20/1.

GB and it's not even close. The imbalance in the size of the economies alone, is enough to dictate who would win a war of attrition. Israel's recent sortie into Lebanon didn't live up to the reputation of their military and the British army is not soft. Come on David let's make it fairer. How about France vs Israel?

I like Israel. Thanks to Palestine they've got plenty of experience in this area.

You can check on relative strengths of world's armed forces at

www.strategypage.com

GB is stronger h2h. However, several different factors need to be considered before you can say the winner.

Where is this battle located? Who strikes first? Who's prepared?

For example, Israel will win a war against GB is it was bordered with GB and GB was totally unprepared for a preemptive. Or is GB trying to invade Israel? No way GB would win on the Israeli terrain especially with the Israeli morale and tenacity of defending their home soil.

But h2h GB should win fairly handily. But to make a guess with such limited information is quite premature.

Great Britain would be an even bigger favorite than a chimpanzee vs. a human. Israel has no Navy and that's all she wrote.

People are mentioning that Israel doesn't have much of a navy. From the little knowledge I have about this type of thing, naval power is the most important factor in winning a war.

It makes sense. Even if Israel could bomb the crap out of GB, they're going to be taking out a bunch of small targets. In the end they'd need to get a large number of boots on GB's shores. The process of doing this will involve a great deal of naval warfare.
