weird semi-common river situation
Say I have a good hand like a set or a straight and the river brings a flush, but I have the bare Ace. I have been the aggressor. I decide to value-bet/bluff, but get raised all-in. There are no straight flushes possible. Is there any way I can call? What if I check-raised the river and he 3-bet me all-in?
If the standard play is to fold, what kind of conditions would you need to call? A very tricky player? A very good player? A very bad player? |

Re: weird semi-common river situation
Against players tricky enough and aggressive enough to justify making this call I'd say a check-call would have been a better option most of the time. Against tight & fairly predicatable opponents you could call if you know that they would just call non nut flushes, but you have to know your player well to do this.

Re: weird semi-common river situation
The other day I tried to bluff a runner-runner river flush holding the bare ace, making a bet of about two thirds of the pot. My lone opponent re-potted it. I folded. He showed just a pair of sixes - and I had more than that! So tricky players can re-bluff here...

Re: weird semi-common river situation
instacall/raise allin if deep enough next time someone does that play. Noone but the most rare species of omaha players will repot it without the nutflush here..
