Default A Request for Help

I am hoping to conduct a survey among online poker players regarding their experiences playing poker online since the passing of the UIGEA earlier this year.

I am a college student and am performing some research into the effects of the UIGEA on the poker industry. I wanted to hear from the players what has and hasn't changed for them. All submissions will remain anonymous. If you are interested please take a few moments to answer these questions for me. Please feel free to elaborate at length on any of the issues. You can post your answers in this thread or you can send me a PM or an email at pokersurvey7@hotmail.com with your answers, or any questions you might have for me. Thanks for your participation.

1) How long have you been playing poker online?

2) Do you play for a living, recreationally, or for supplemental income?

3) How has the passing of the UIGEA changed the way you play? Have you changed sites? Have you changed games? Changed the stakes at which you play? The time of day you play?

4) How has the texture of the games you play in changed?

5) How has the passing of the UIGEA changed the way you do your transactions with the poker sites?

6) How has the UIGEA changed your plans for your future playing poker? (if you had any)

7) For players inside the US: Would you relocate outside of the United States in order to continue playing poker profitably online?

8) Would you play frequently at brick & mortar establishments if online poker was no longer profitable or feasible? Players who play as their primary source of income - Would you play full-time at a casino? Would you relocate if there wasn't enough B & M action near you?

1) How long have you been playing poker online?

About 5 years

2) Do you play for a living, recreationally, or for supplemental income?

Recreationally (40%) and supplemental income (60%)

3) How has the passing of the UIGEA changed the way you play? Have you changed sites? Have you changed games? Changed the stakes at which you play? The time of day you play?

I actually play more now than before the UIGEA passed. I played about 30% of my time at sites that "banned" US customers, but just moved my business. I play hold'em (full ring) and some omaha hi/lo and play $2-4 or $3-6 generally. Try to play 2 hours per night after work usually 9-11PM. Anytime on the weekends (usually 5 hours total/day

4) How has the texture of the games you play in changed?

Not that much

5) How has the passing of the UIGEA changed the way you do your transactions with the poker sites?

Not yet

6) How has the UIGEA changed your plans for your future playing poker? (if you had any)

N/A
7) For players inside the US: Would you relocate outside of the United States in order to continue playing poker profitably online?

No
8) Would you play frequently at brick & mortar establishments if online poker was no longer profitable or feasible? Players who play as their primary source of income - Would you play full-time at a casino? Would you relocate if there wasn't enough B & M action near you?
B&M is too slow and kind of bores me so no
