AK with a paired board and facing an overbet on the river. Call?
Hey guys. No reads on the guy. I checked behind because I was concerned about the paired board. My flop bet was also on the small end in case he c/r. Do you think this is a bluff that I should call most of the time?
Stakes: $0.50/$1 Stacks: Villain $75 in BB, me $99 in CO Dealt: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Preflop: folded to me, I raise $4, BB calls $3. Flop (2 players, $8): T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB checks, I bet $5, BB calls $5 Turn (2 players, 18$): 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB checks, I check River (2 players, $18): 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] BB bets $30, I fold. |

I'd bet the turn to let the fd/weaker aces pay and the laydown on the river easier

As played it's an easy fold without a read.

I think this is an easy fold witouth reads. I think this is much more likley to be a 10 hoping you would call then a bluff. And 99% of villians will not make this bet with a weaker A

Re: AK with a paired board and facing an overbet on the river. Call?
I agree. I find that in these situations where I check behind, a bluff on the river by the villain is usually 1/2 to 3/4 of the pot, whereas a (ridiculous) value bet is pot-sized or more. Does anyone else find this to be the case?

[/ QUOTE ] for the most part, i think ur right..i mean, he's not betting with a bluff here as it seems too stupid...more often than not, he's got a 10 here and is either trying to fake a bluff or is just mad u didn't bet turn... |
