question about hidden adsense ads
i recently had my fairly popular blog redesigned and the actual blog portion is inside a frame. so anyone who looks through the most recent entries would almost certainly not see the ads which are all stuck down at the bottom of the frame. i am still getting credit for impressions just as i was before i had the site redesigned. does this go against google's terms of service? it seems like it would but my web guy said it doesn't.
thanks. |

Re: question about hidden adsense ads
Based on the TOS it appears to be OK. https://www.google.com/adsense/support/b...nk&hl=en_US
Having your content in a frame is old-school and hard to use, but hey if you like it then go for it. |

Re: question about hidden adsense ads
frames are a bad idea all around nowadays.
are you getting clicks on the ads? you don't make any money off just impressions, do you? |

Re: question about hidden adsense ads
i've been making around 75-85 cents per 1000 impressions which is half decent since i've been getting at least 5000 impressions a day from my site and the related forum. my click rate is very low though. i'm working on maximizing the amount of ads on my forum ( it currently only has a top banner and i know i can get more on there ) as well as making the ads more prevalent on my main site so i'll hopefully get a higher click rate.

Re: question about hidden adsense ads
If you're on an impression based program then normally your ads cannot be hidden from view. Usually they'll have to be visible somewhere in the top 25% of the page.

Re: question about hidden adsense ads
The search engines hate frames. If you're depending on them at all for traffic, I'd lose the frames.
