55 OTB, Awkward Stack, ITM of a FTP 69+6 DS6
Sorry about the HH, I am new to the forum and have not yet found a converter for FTP HH's.
Full Tilt Poker Game #1314157782: $5,000 Guarantee (8897261), Table 21 - 500/1000 Ante 125 - No Limit Hold'em - 15:47:53 ET - 2006/11/27 Seat 1: nsinger (16,554)(SB) Seat 2: ninpo (34,294)(BB) Seat 3: Robbiegol (6,797) Seat 4: PurpleH (13,568) Seat 5: s4mmyfarha (49,228) Seat 6: willw9 (18,718)(Button) **All players post T125 ante** *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to willw9 [5h 5s] Robbiegol folds PurpleH folds s4mmyfarha folds willw9... I was the CL for most of the tourney. I was hit over the head with the deck early, but my cards turned cold late. I had been playing pretty aggressive up until this point, trying to play a lot of small pots, and folding (incorrectly, in hindsight) to a lot of SS all-ins. The SB was your average, decent 6 max player. He played fairly solid, was capable of making plays, was selectively aggressive, etc. I would say that his repop range is definetely higher than his "all in call" range. The BB was fairly new to the table, no reads yet. How do you proceed? |

"and folding (incorrectly, in hindsight) to a lot of SS all-ins. "
because of this, I'd make my normal PF raise and call a push. I'll take a pair all day in a race, and hopefully he'll be pushing a lot of junk as well. I can see an argument for just pushing allin preflop also. |

if you're going to raise and call a push than i'd say just shove now. that way you eliminate a tough decision if someone stop n gos you.
also, here's your full tilt HH converter: http://www.neildewhurst.com/hand-converter/ |

I prefer a push here, stacks are awkward. Leave the tough decisions to your opponents.

Re: 55 OTB, Awkward Stack, ITM of a FTP 69+6 DS6
Yeah, pushing is easiest. Raise-call is fine but often gruesome when he calls. I tried a limp-push, and posted the hand, in this spot a few weeks ago. I was quite pleased with it. One poster said it was turning my hand face up (and I thought it was pretty innovative too ) but I'm not sure I agree there. However, 55 is a little low for this play and you need to be pretty sure that villain will a)raise b)not raise too much.
As the alternatives are all problematic, in a vacuum I think pushing is the play. |
