Trifecta\'ed
Live 10/20. Villian is very good - maybe someone here looking to boast on pulling off a trifecta C/R. He's playing maybe 25% of the hands and is usually on the attack.
8 handed at the moment. Rare fold to me on the button, I raise A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Villian 3-bets from the BB, I call. Flop is Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Villian checks, I bet, villian raises, I call. Turn A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Villian checks, I bet, villian raises, I call. River 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Villian checks. Questions are flop or turn 3-bet and of course the river? |

Re: Trifecta\'ed
Don't make poker harder then it has to be. If you have him beat then don't sweat it, he gave you an extra bet on both the flop and the turn.

Re: Trifecta\'ed
i would probably play it the same and bet/call the river. live it depends a lot on whether i think the dude is trying to checkraise based on physical tells.

Re: Trifecta\'ed
I don't know what you're going for on the river here.
AKc, AA, QQ, JJ, AQ, KT, T9... all these hands get there. at various points in the hand. Furthermore, he c/r the turn which is pretty strong. Then he gets passive on the river? Just take the showdown. If you're beat, you're not winning by betting. If he's got you beat, you'll save the bet. I'd be pretty glad to have a free showdown given the texture of the board and the play on each street. Other than that, I don't really have much comment on three-betting at any point. I like your line up to the river. |

Re: Trifecta\'ed
I think the river being a club means you can't bet this river for value. I like checking behind and politely waiting for him to turn over his hand or muck it before you turn over your hand. If he has you beat, muck your hand quietly without showing and don't give any indication what you held.
