Default Jc7c on button

$1-$2 blinds; I have about $160. 5 players call the BB. I call. SB raises $10. Everyone calls. I'm not happy calling a raise with this hand, but the price is right; I call.

There is now $93 in the pot after the rake. Flop is Tc8c2c, and everyone checks around to me. Now what?

Not a huge fan of preflop TBH. If you flop a flush it might not be good. 2 pair is sketchy as well.

Flop is easy bet, like 70 or so.

I'm not a big fan of my calls either, but I have position and excellent pot odds. I think I have to do it.

I have less than $150 left on the flop. A $70+ bet doesn't leave me with much left for later streets. If called, my turn bet will give him 4-1 odds.

Anyway, if you bet, SB calls. Next card is 3D. He checks to you again. Now what?

Shove obv.. I don't understand this hand. Did you lose to a higher flush or something?

Ok - I was just checking. I did lose to a higher flush. I just wanted to verify that my all in was a reasonable move.

While I don't see anything terribly wrong with your call preflop, there is something to be learned here. While you were getting "odds" to call, the value of spiking a non-nut flush goes down considerably when more people enter the pot. In a family pot such as this one, Axc is a pretty likely holding. After you called preflop, you were destined to go broke in this hand. I don't hate the preflop call, but it is something to keep in mind with hands like these.

I was aware of this danger - even MORE aware after losing the pot But there's only about an 11% chance of someone holding a higher flush with 7 opponents. It's really less than that when you consider that Qcxc and Kcxc would likely move ahead of me rather than risk giving a free card to a lone Ac. Even Acxc might bet out rather than giving someone a free card to fill up.
