Most Unknown Great NFL Player
There's a fella on the NFL's All-80's team named John Anderson .
Guess he must've been a pretty good player; 1020 tackles & 25 INT's. Couldn't have told you who he played for or what position for a million bucks before tonight, tho he played for some lousy teams in the pre-cable era. BTW, there are four players on both the All-70's & the All-80's teams. All are well-known HOFers (although one of the names might surprise non-hardcore NFL fans), none quarterbacks. Answers in white below: Walter Payton, Jack Lambert, Mike Webster, & Ted Hendricks. |

Re: Most Unknown Great NFL Player
People that I talk to about football tend to forget that Steve Largent even exists.
Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, Cris Carter, Marvin Harrison. Largent is always forgotten when mentioning great NFL WRs. |

Re: Most Unknown Great NFL Player
Well, there's another Wisconsin native, an undersized Hall of Famer who's hardly a household name, thanks to Mike Webster: Jim Otto. (That's toot, inside out)
