table selection
What table stats do you look at when selecting a table ? Obviously it would be nice to find a table with a large average pot. But somewhere i also read that the amount of players on the flop is another thing to condsider, for whether the table is passive/aggressive and how often you get sucked out and so on. What kind of figures would be ideal for a passive but lucrative table ?

i look for high % of players to the flop, and a medium sized pot. if the pot size if overly large, you might have a few lags at the table, and that might not suit your playing style. If the pots are tiny, it is probably filled with weak tight nits. Those games can be beaten too, it just might take a little more work. i find medium sized pot tables to have plenty of limping and not much raising unless they have a wired hand.

To answer your question on what I look for... I like either rocks on my left or 2+2 wanna-be TAGs. I like where my post-flop play is at this point, so I feel comfortable playing them HU. On my right I LOVE LOVE LOVE to have maniacs. If I don't have them, I still love me some fish. At the present, I'm playing 6-max. It's not uncommon to sit with 5 other fish, so every game is good. Just have to cut back on c/betting a bit cause they won't fold. A lot of valuebetting with 2nd/3rd pair in this game. At 6-max, I like to have 2/3 fish ideally. then 2 tight players to my right. At 10-max, I'm SURE it's the same deal. More fish, less c-betting. Don't sit at tables where the VP$IP is < 25%. They're awful.

I'm playing .05/.10 on UB and it seems like every 10 max table is less than 25%. Usually the best I can hope for is the average being from a couple of tight players and a couple of really loose players. I very rarely find a table where more than half the players have VPIPs of more than 35%.
