Default sick play?

Button is 31/8/1.7

SB is 80/15/.8
"can induce multistreet bluffs HU by checking flop behind
r good hands so far, big aces and PPs
relatively aggro with his made hands
calls down all sorts of junk"

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (3 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
Button raises, SB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (6 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, Button bets, SB calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, Button checks.

plan was to c/f

River: (4.50 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets, Hero raises

SB could have a ton of hands here, and I beat a bunch of them so I definately want to call. button could have a moderate strength hand that beats me here though (ie 99, TT, JQ, maybe AJ) that he would call one bet with but may fold to a raise. so since I'm calling anyways a raise to push the button out is best.

seemed like a sick play at the time considering my opponents, anyone disagree?

edit: I'm referring to the river. comments on other streets also appreciated.

This is a terrible play, why let someone who possibly is drawing to a 2-9 outer have a free card?

you have the best hand and you don't want to give a guy drawing to who knows what a free card. as well, its a good idea to get money in the pot when you have the best hand.

This river raise is pure absurdity......This is limit poker, hes facing ONE bet for a pot thats like 6 BB right now, getting 6 to 1....you think hes folding anything here!? I bet most people even call with A5-- that is the best hand you can expect him to fold here, he probably has like 67.....you said you can induce him to bluff byc hecking behind him (which you did), so if hes bluffing here-- why are you raising? Just call and let him show his 68 off....thats one thing I dont get that MANY people do-- if someone is BLUFFING on the river, WHY WOULD YOU RAISE THEM!? You gain NOTHING by raising someone who you think is bluffing if you have at least a decent pair-- you lose the chance to see what they're bluffing with, and you lose an extra bet when you're wrong and they ARENT bluffing.

lets say button raises 15% of his hands OTB, this might even be too high.

so against a range of 77+, A8s+, KTs+, QJs, A9o+, KTo+, QJo my equity is 25% on the turn if I was HU vs the button. throw in the SB calling the flop with any pair/draw/overcard and it's looking even worse.

I don't know why we're just calling the flop if we're going to bet that turn card since it's got to be the worse one in the deck.

Really? Aside from a 5 or 66, what are they? And I don't see a 5 or 66 betting there anyway when the middle pair of the flop just paired.
