I voted A9o and A8s. His numbers do not indicate a habitual blind stealer, our position is terrible and I don't care to get involved with a junky A that will likely miss the flop and I'll have no idea where I stand in the hand.

I'm the same way, but I feel like there is so much 3-betting going on with junky aces that I'd like to see where people stand on this one. I really hate giving up hands like A5s in the SB, especially with a 2/3 blind structure. Is cold-calling even an option if BB is real loose-passive?

And this is blasphemy but I think blind stealing/defense has it place, but is way overrated and taken way too far in most cases. Life has been much better since I adopted this attitude.

I would consider playing A7o+ and A5s+, but this is definitely subject to the looseness of the BB as well as the postflop tendencies of the Button, along with other considerations for image, etc. If the BB will liberally call 2 more bets with a lot of holdings I raise my standards. If the Button is very aggressive/tricky postflop I also raise my standards.

Take a look at all the high stakes threads about pf stuff, it's similar to this. I think folding a lot of these is -EV but also negative variance.

Danza, do you mean folding them is -EV because you're ahead PF so you're giving up a PF edge at times (to which I would agree)?

Or do you mean it's -EV and you should always 3bet PF regardless of position if you think you're ahead PF (to which I would not agree)
