Am i going crazy

Running Bad is running bad i suppose, but the more this goes on I can't discount the fact that maybe its me screwing up. Let me hear from the veterans out there who have experienced long periods of bad variance.

Basically, I keep making it deep into this one tourney on FTP (24+2 7,500 Guarantee) with a better than average chip stack (say I have about 12K when Avg = 7K). Blinds start to get up there....say 300 - 600 with $25 antes. I'm using selective agression in position with hands like AQ off, PP's 88 - JJ. I'll get some short stack who moves in and either one of two things seems to be happening of late.

1. I figure he's making a stand with less than premium and it turns out he actually has AA or KK

2. I figure he's making a stand with less than premium and I'm correct, but he sucks out anyway.

In either case, my stack goes from above average to below average in the second hour. I'll get my chips in with the best of it (today it was 2 pair vs. QQ with 2 cards to come) and the bastards suck out on me. Busto around 50-60th place (Pays 36). Sometimes they'll have much less than QQ BTW and it seems like they dont respect the raise of 5X the BB?????? I don't get it.....AM I THAT FRIGGIN UNLUCKY.......DO I SUCK.........How do these pros seem to be there at the end of these big tournaments so often....Are they extremely skilled AND Lucky too.
