Default What the New Bill will not do

So I see this about neteller and the big sites like party
pulling out for various reasons with none being in line with that of the legislation. What I mean is the new legislation is supposed to prevent compulsive gamblers from gambling. But it will not and here is why.

I have a friend who is a compulsive gambler donating to the tune of $80,000 in the last two years to sportsbooks and poker. Problem is the new legislation to protect him won't. He cannot use neteller, firepay, etc since he scammed the instacash features for them all. He must only deposit via western union. He must play poker and bet at sites like skybook due to his scamtendencies. So the new law, killing many things we benefit from as winning players, is doing nothing to curb his gambling problems. It is business as usual for him. Since Friday he has went through over $400 in just the few short hours he has had time to play. Every week he deposits anywhere from 250-1000 from big rolls of lotto scratchoffs he steals from his dad's store.

So good job new law. My friend can still click his mouse and lose his house just as if nothing happened. If they wanted to help compulsive gamblers they should have made compulsive behavior illegal and the not vehicles used to carry out the behavior. I fear for my own financial safety.

...Now if I could just remember to run a thorough credit check...

Default you are a hypocrite

Have you called Skybook and told them your friend is a scammer and compulsive gambler ?

Hell, pm me his name and I'll call them.

Otherwise, quit pretending you give a rat'sass about your friend.

If you think the new law was passed to help out degenerates with gambling problems. You are sadly mistaken. The US gov't doesn't give two [censored] about your friend or anyone elses gambling problem. What they do care about it keeping the campaign contributions (and whatever additional funds that are given behind closed doors) from Indian tribes and whatever religious nuts coming in. They will say it is to help but it is only to help them keep their jobs.

Plus, it should not be the position of the government to protect your friend or others with gambling problems from themselves by taking freedoms or freedom of choice from the rest of us.

That is the job of you, the so-called "friend". If you really are his friend step up and do something about it. If you take no action then you are not really his friend at all.

I don't give a [censored]. And neither will skybook as long as cash coming in western union style. I am just pointing out how this law affects me but not him. If I gave a damn about my friend I would have already contacted his dad who the money has most likely been stolen from. Besides the only thing that will stop him is to hit rock bottom.

Default Re: you\'re a not a hypocrite, you just have no clue about friends

"I don't give a [censored]" about my friend.

So why should anyone give a censored about you and your complaint ?

Actually, since you do not give a [censored] about your friend, what is the point of your beef anyway ?

Default My beef

My beef is this legislation is hypocritical. He gets to maintain status quo unchanged while the rest of us get to replace party and more then likely neteller sometime in the future. While not a big deal, still a pain. This government and the people who run it are your hypocrits.

Default You are jealous of a compulsive, losing player ?

"He gets to maintain status quo unchanged while the rest of us get to replace party and more then likely neteller sometime in the future. While not a big deal, still a pain."

You see the Internet is like a series of tubes.

No one should EVER wonder why folks like Mr. Pathetic end up with representation like Senator Stevens and Frist. Incoherent, non-thinking, ignorant, self-absorbed, lazy elected officials ARE representative of a large segment of the public.

Vote on Tuesday. .... except not you OP.
