FYI-temporary vegas housing
Just an FYI, I know many people post looking for temporary housing in Vegas. The apt complex where I live (Desert Club) was bought out by Harrah's and is no longer giving leases, but are accepting new residents on a month-to-month basis. You can move in short-term but obviously you'll need to furnish the place (there are furniture rental places for this).
Safe, gated community nice apts two blocks off the strip behind Venetian. large 1br $875-$925 they also have jr 1-brs not sure of the price probably around $100 less. Please PM me if you do this as there is a referal program. |

Harrah's has snatched up everything it can get its claws into in that area. They didn't buy an apartment complex because they want to be landlords. Whatever they announce, whenever they announce it, it's gonna be huge. |

MGM owns the other half of vegas and they haven't built a massive super property. I mean, I guess they have several massive super properties though... Why wouldn't Harrahs just keep what they have right now? Wouldn't a diverse brand be better? I obviously know nothing about business, vegas, or hotels though. |

[/ QUOTE ] I guess City Center's 66 acres with over $7 billion of stuff totaling about 17 million square feet including >2800 condo units, a 4000 room hotel with >150,000sqft of casino space, two more smaller hotels, and 500,000sqft of shopping isn't huge. You just can't impress some people. Boyd is doing Echelon Place for $4 billion. Venetian is adding Palazo. Wynn is adding Encore. Harrah's has to come up with something. They just paid out the nose to buy the couple acres under Barbary Coast, and with that they've pretty well sealed up that entire block. It's not a question of if they will do something ginormous, it's only a question of when and exactly how ginormous it'll be. If you haven't ever done Batista's Hole In the Wall, better hurry to enjoy one last blast from the 900 year old accordian player and one last all-you-can-drink complementary wine jug with your meal. |

A friend of mine found the 900-year-old accordian player to be annoying. "If this guy doens't leave us alone, he's going to find out why Italy's shaped like a boot!"
