Default Kidnapping someone for selling drugs is good because..

And I'd also like to know if it's good for everyone or just people wearing an official police costume.

Someone will post this:
youre preventing him from giving drugs to someone else. That person will become addicted and will turn to crime so he can have more drugs.
Someone else me will reply either:
a)So can I kidnap you for selling alcohol??
b) What about the black market and so on...
then someone else will reply:
a) ehhh, there this dude at harvard that disagrees with AC so I win.
b) Youre ideas suck, but I dont really have an argument to refute you.

Given that most of the 'statists' here are opposed to our current narcotics laws, there's almost no one here who would argue that arresting and imprisoning your typical drug dealer is a good idea, and no one has said that in the almost 4 hours the thread's been open so far.

nielsio, valenzuela, pvn - More crappy 'OMG STATISTS' posts please!

Kidnapping someone to sell drugs for you is good because you won't have to pay them and they will get busted not you.

I didn't ask if it was a good idea, I asked if it was good. If we should do it (morality).

Assuming you think we *should not* do it, i.e. it's immoral, how does that make us feel towards policemen, who DO do it. And if you think we *should not* do it, why isn't there a mass outrage against this right now?

I also would like to hear why we should not do it. And if you cannot come up with a reason, then I'd like to hear why policemen can do it and I cannot.

If you put this in the first post, the thread becomes about 90% less idiotic.

Should we do it? No.

It's dumb to make drugs illegal instead of legal and regulated. As long as the ingredients and risks are clear, adults should have the ability to personally consume any drug that the market provides at a price they can afford. We should arrest people that sell morphine as Pappy's Secret CureAll! or sell liquor to 12 year olds, but not Joe Cocaine Dealer if his blow is actually blow.

Besides, it contributes to limited supply and inflated prices for drugs, which leads to all sorts of crap from violence to subpar merchandise. And the profit potential the inflated prices create makes the questionable deterent effect of arresting some dealers negligible.

Do I think policemen are evil for arresting dealers? No. Because the law is clear and, by its own effed up standards, fair.
