0.05/0.10 QQ ok to check river?
Villain 1 is 12/5/0.67. Villain 2 is 56/9/0.8 and an idiot.
I'm wondering if this river is an ok check considering AK is part of villain 1's range and K-anything is part of Villain 2's range. As the flush is BD, you have less to fear from it. If I was villain and I had a K I'd have C/R the turn.
I'd bet that river every time for value so lesser pairs can call me. If I get re-raised, decision time: but big pot, 1 bet I call; 2 back to me I fold. |

Tom, why would you checkraise the turn with K high?

Re: 0.05/0.10 QQ ok to check river?
What's the sample size on Villain 1? Does his low AF partly come from paying off too much (meaning Ax might pay off)? This is an easy bet/fold if 1 had position on you, in your hand it's tougher since Villain 1 is probably going to play the river perfectly against you but Villain 2 is giving you a lot of overlay (he probably has Ax, 5x or some dumb PP and he's going to call with all of those things).

[/ QUOTE ] I had a response all typed up but then I realized it was the rock that bet the flop and not the fish (in my last post I thought it was the other way around). That means he probably doesn't have Kx, and the fish is probably going to pay off with all kinds of crap. So I like a bet. |

Idiot had Asomething and Villain 1 had 88. [/ QUOTE ] And this is why it's a value bet. The great thing about playing against preditable loose passives like this is that it lets you make these easy value bets and get away from them when they trap you. The guy donk bet on the flop with a mid pp. He probably doesn't even remember that you raised. The other guy calls with A5 because he can't let go of top pair. They both call on the turn because they can't read hands. They do the same on the river. If one of them did pick up something they would probably donk it again because they just know that they need to bet when they have a hand. About the only time you'll get check raised by these guys is on the turn when they slowplay the flop with trips or a set. If it happens on the river it's strong and an easy fold. |
