Check-calling nuts-no redraw on the flop
Say u get a free flop in the BB, 4 players see:
9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] And you hold 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] So I check, someone pots and I call. Standard? Turn brings a blank and villian pots it again, I reraise it. Is this line fine? How many times are you against same hand better draw? If my line isnt optimal, what if the turns gives you 2 pair while still holding the nut straight, is it ok now? |

Re: Check-calling nuts-no redraw on the flop
Depends how deep you are and what the other players are like.

Re: Check-calling nuts-no redraw on the flop
Usually if you turn two pair you shouldn't think about giving it up, obv as long as it doesn't fill a higher straight/flush.
Sometimes you are up against a higher straight redraw or set + fd, but in this situation I think not too often, so your play is good here. Any more info re specific reads? |

Re: Check-calling nuts-no redraw on the flop
yea, with absolutely no redraws always best to wait till safe turn to get serious money in, if we're both deep and i know my opponent isn't going anywhere, i just try to play a smaller pot, but with shorter stacks i try to get it in on turn if possible
