help me,, media-codec trojan on my computer....

my computer is going crazy, help me. my stupid ass tried to download some porn and end up getting this trojan. mediacodec trojan... some virusburster thing pops up also. all i have is avg free virus protection. what do i do, i suck at computers, help please...

i use explorer now. would changing it now help, or just wait till i fix the problem. first time 4 years of porn surfing this has happened to me.

im trying some sight housecall/trend micro,,, let me see if this works. im realizing alot of sites want you to pay them to remove it. ill try those 2 links you gave me if this doesnt work. thanks.

wow, i was up all night fixing this crap. i was lucky enough to somehow find this site that teaches you how to actually remove the codec-media trojan and the virusburster thingy. so i followed directioins, i put my computer in safe mode and then manulally deleted infected files. somehow or another it worked!!! here is the website if anyone is interested or runs into this problem in the future.

If you'd just used Adaware and Spybot like ed suggested you could have saved yourself a lot of time.

i was up all night doing that stuff he suggested. that stuff that finally worked took 15 minutes. anyways, i appreciate ed suggesting those things. they ended up scanning my computer and finding tons of corrupt files but they wanted me to pay $$$ to get rid of these main viruses and trojans. i tried alot of the free spyware downloads from download.com. all of them wanted me to pay for additional software to get rid of media-codec virus.
