Hey Guys!

I spend 80% of my poker time playing HU SNGs and have been reading this forum for well over a month now and think it's awesome! I play mostly at the $20-$30 level and while I am a consistent winning player (about 57.5% after 400+ SNGs), I know there is plenty of room for improvement. Sometimes I am just straight up out played!

one hand that stuck out for me was Hand 32

there is no need to go all in there. you are either way ahead or way behind. therefore, whether you bet $200 or $1,240 makes no difference as to whether he will/should call. therefore, i'd bet much smaller.

Good postflop play, applying the pressure well. But way too tight preflop - you never raise without a good hand, and you hardly ever call raises. Fortunately, your opponent didn't pick up on that, or he could have run you over.

You need to learn some devices to deal with preflop raisers when you don't have any cards. Call, then lead the flop if you're out of position. Call, minraise, bet the turn if you're in position. Min-re-raise preflop, bet the flop. That sort of thing.

I think there are similarities between the way I played the KK hand and the way you played the 88 hand in your HH. I disagree that betting 200 would accomplish the same goal, and checking is just asking for trouble.

I would agree that I limped too often.

The A7 hand makes for nasty reading. I was expecting him to raise and was planning on pushing all in. I should have folded when HE pushed though.

The AK hand played out just as I wanted. He had raised the last 4 times I limped and I figured he would do the same again. I wanted to get it all in here.

no. totally different situations. u have KK on A66. I have 88 on a drawy flop with an ace. I have to worry about overs, clubs, and straights on the turn. So if I bet on the low side, I am likely giving someone odds to chase.

Your hand however has no draws. Either you are beat or not. No overcards can come on the turn. The only hand that calls that is not beating you would be some pocket pair. So, their odds are 22-to-1 or whatever to fill up on turn. So, there's no reason to bet more than the minimum needed to deny their set odds. No way your flop push is ever folding an ace or a 6 on this flop.

edit: also reraise more pf in that hand
