Consecutive river plays with A-high vs. passive
47/11/1.1 35 321hands
Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $5/$10 5 players Converter Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero raises, 3 folds, BB calls. Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4.5SB, 2 players) BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls. Turn: T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4.25BB, 2 players) BB checks, Hero checks. River: 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4.25BB, 2 players) BB bets, Hero folds. Uncalled bets: 1BB returned to BB. I probably would have called if the flush hadn't hit. I wasn't so worried that he had it, but the fact that he would lead into me when it hits and my hand looks like a draw, made me muck. Next hand (There was no SB) Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $5/$10 6 players Converter Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, CO folds, Button calls, Hero raises, UTG+1 calls, Button calls. Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3.5SB, 4 players) Button checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 folds, Button calls. Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2.75BB, 3 players) Button checks, Hero checks. River: 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2.75BB, 3 players) Button bets, Hero calls. Results: Final pot: 4.75BB I figured I couldn't muck two of these in a row. |

Re: Consecutive river plays with A-high vs. passive
You're not ahead enough times in the second hand to justify the call IMO. The random 9 is the 2nd worst card after 9c falling on the river.

Re: Consecutive river plays with A-high vs. passive
River 9 is terrible card to call IMO.
Edit: Pot is also tiny. On this board you win 29% against someones range who is ATC. and his range is tighter than that. you are boned. |

i don't understand how you check behind the turn in hand 2 and then convince yourself to call the river...

Hand 1 is good
Hand 2 I won't bother echoing the previous responses but I will give you this: |

Re: Consecutive river plays with A-high vs. passive
HH of 2nd is wrong? You are last to act on the BB.. But I do agree with rest. First hand is good.
Second hand is bet turn and that should be the last bet you're putting in this hand. Both of the above flops connect with a lot of hands villain could have. So pick another spot to catch a bluf. |

Re: Consecutive river plays with A-high vs. passive
I think you can muck both of these. In hand 2 I'd be tempted to b/f the turn; but when he bets the river, you're never seeing less than 2 pair.
