Default Prima 10/20 against BB

BB has only played 10-15 hands so far but looks rather bad, loose preflop, with unpredicted aggression post flop, likes to bluff. But then again it's only 15 hands max and it's 4-handed.

Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is UTG with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4.5SB, 2 players)
BB bets, Hero calls.

Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3.25BB, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3.25BB, 2 players)

I guess there are alternative ways to play this but I think that since he is probably a bad player but I don't have any specific reads on how he plays, this is the best against him. Or maybe not?

I would bet against a more competent player. This one I think has bad hand reading skills and his flop donk means a weaker hand (PP/mid pair etc) or bluff more times than a stronger hand.

I don't think he will understand that my turn check is a defensive one (or a slowplay) and I'm not folding on the river and thus he will try a river bluff a big %age of times.

So my play tries to extract more from a more likely bluff without risking too much by giving a free card (unless he has something like 56).

Obviously I was also trying to piss him off...

If you're sense of this player is solid the turn check may be good. The river raise is truly bad.

Why you think is bad? The river 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] didn't change anything. In both plays (betting turn / checking turn) I invest 2 bets.

If he bets the river on a bluff then fine, but if he does a marginal value bet because he thinks my play shows that I don't have A or even K, then I doubt this player is folding to the river raise.

Just raise the flop. If he's a poor player he's probably calling with pretty much anything he bet with anyway.

If you raise the river, he could have you beat and call, or he might 3bet you, in which case you probably HATE folding against a presumably bad player... but probably have to. He could have anything really... I find the best way to deal with unpredictable bad players is just raise when I have something or a very strong draw, and you get plently of action.

Excellent. I guess I did the river raise thinking subconsiously of your post
The guy actually called and mucked.
So this brings in mind that sometimes against a bad player the non perfect or even slightly bad play might be more profitable. Something like the idea of "swapping mistakes" in Skalnsky's NoLimit theory Book

I think you played that fairly bad, I raise flop and bet on the turn. River raise seems horrid to me.
