Re: probably standard, but sexy
I like it. Most times you'll take it down on the turn.

Why not? [/ QUOTE ] Because you're only getting called by 2 pair, a set, or like 76? |

[ QUOTE ]
Why not? [/ QUOTE ] i fold out every hand i beat and every hand that beats me calls. and i have no idea where im at on the flop. i want to keep the pot small as i may have the best hand and have a decent draw. when i pick up 7 more outs on the turn and he leads weak its a good spot for a c/r. getting it all in on this flop would be very very -EV ITLR |

Re: probably standard, but sexy
Looks ok. I prolly make it a bit more, say ~15 if I'm going to raise. I would give up if I miss river too. I can't see him calling much on the turn that folds to a river bet.
Against someone that's not very good I think c/c is fine also as your getting a nice price, your fe isn't as good as usual and he will often pay you off on river. You can just bet out when you hit river or if he's aggro bad c/r. Paul |

Re: probably standard, but sexy
I dont mind just calling in these spots... the odds are good for the call and you have a good chance of improving...
IMO this is the other mans pot to control he took the lead so its his show... I have found that in these spots its best to be passive... you wont be getting away from this hand if they have a hand they want to protect and it gets all in on the turn cos youll still be getting the odds required to call... and if you dont improve your losing alot of money needlessly... Remember on the turn here you are not the favorite to win the hand if hes got your 5's beat even though you are in good shape if you made this move on the flop then we are laughing as we are favorites to win and we all want to put our money in as favorites... I also find that letting the pot leader keep the lead also gains respect from your opponents and that will be rewarded with equal respect when you take the lead... Sometimes its easier to take a back seat.... |

Re: probably standard, but sexy
I like it a lot. Probably exactly what I am going to be doing from now (I rarely reraise on draws). So many outs and you already have pair, you will prolly take the pot right there or be in great position to win on the river.
