Monthly withdrawal limits for banks (ING Direct)
According to a phone conversation with ING Direct reps.
You can only make 6 withdrawals per month. There are no fees for atempting to make more, but they just won't let you. Furthermore, after the first month where you attempt to make more than 6 withdrawals, they send you a letter saying it's federal law that you can't do more than 6. On a 2nd offence, they close your account and report you to the governement. 3. How true is this? Will they let you have your money back? 4. Would the govnt actualy do anything with this info? |

It's true that federal law mandates you can only make six savings withdrawals per month.

Re: Monthly withdrawal limits for banks (ING Direct)
You need to understand that the federal reserve has definitions and sanctions in place to enforce monetary policy. This is one of the ways they curb inflation and control the growth of money. This allows banks to have a stable required reserve. Nothing shady happening here.
