Default This TAG move smells

BB is a pretty nitty+passive "tag" (okay, not a tag cuz he's not ag, but he's like 16/8, solid/regular) but for some reason this line smells fishy.

No Limit Hold'em Ring Game (6 max) , 5 players
Blinds : $1/$2

Stacks:
UTG : $74.42
CO : $203.20
Hero : $212
SB : $106.77
BB : $242.44

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is Button with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG limps, CO folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $10</font>, SB folds, BB calls, UTG folds.

Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($23, 2 players)
BB checks, <font color="#cc0000">Hero bets $17</font>, <font color="#cc0000">BB raises to $34</font>, Hero calls ($17).

Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($91, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero ???

(anyone do something else on the flop?)

against a real nitty player i really like a delayed c bet here, your hand has some showdown value so if villain checks the turn again then you can lead out and fold to the c/r or you could even calla bet if BB leads out and doesnt get too crazy, i think i am much more apt to c bet this board with something like KQ or Kx and of course value bet if with Ax but with middle pair i kinda would like to see a showdown if the player is tricky

If he's not ag, doesn't that mean hes not c/r the flop with anything that you beat? Has he c/r your cbet before? As played, definite check behind on the turn.

He c/r bluffs the turn here just about never. But betting only helps to fold out 5 outters really.

What to do vs a river bet if you check behind here would be tough.

I would fold flop to the c/r like 99% of the time against this player.

Ya, given your description, I don't get your call at all?

Check-min-raise on a drawy flop is just almost never a decent hand from a "solid" player. I figured he pretty often had clubs or a very weak ace that he'd fold, and in any case I have 5 outs as backup.

I think this is bang on except the part about "that he'd fold". If I had a nickel for every time a "solid/regular" called me down all the way on an A-high flop with an unimproved A-rag when I've been repping a big ace...

Actually, I do.

Expecting a passive player, even a nitty one, to fold TP is asking for a world of hurt.

i think your cbet is too small. it's a 2 tone coordinated flop w/ 2 paint.... if your goal is to ever get villain to fold, you have to bet bigger.

if this guy is as passive as you say, fold the flop

where you are now, check behind on the turn...

also, no way you have 5 outs, on average, here
