Razz hand.
Player unknown.
Suggestions on this hand? I considered folding 3rd, but decided to play since I only had to call the bring-in. I don't understand his limp on 3rd, followed by a raise on 5th. The only way he can raise me on 5th is if he has premium hole cards, but if that's the case, why is he not raising 3rd? Strange hand. Re: Razz hand.
Check/fold 5th street. I'm not putting any more money into this hand even if I am ahead.

Your drawing very rough, and he has a much better board than you with A6xx, where we can assume the xx has at least one baby and the other card's range is anywhere from a baby to a 9 (hero is slightly ahead when the villain holds a baby and a T we should note). Although I am semi-new to RAZZ I have a ridiculous amount of 2-7 and A-5 lowball experience over the past 2 years, this is a trap hand I want to run far away from before it gets expensive. You could be ahead, you might even win the hand, but its not worth paying a double bet to find out. to make it easier to see I ran a simulation assuming the villain had (82)A <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre> http://twodimes.net/h/?z=2119401 pokenum -mc 500000 -r 7c 5d 8h 9s ts - 2h 8d as jh 6c / jc kh 4d 5s 9c jd 8s Razz (7-card Stud A-5 Low): 500000 sampled outcomes cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV Ts 9s 7c 5d 8h 177250 35.45 322750 64.55 0 0.00 0.354 As 6c 8d Jh 2h 322750 64.55 177250 35.45 0 0.00 0.645 </pre><hr /> Even if he has a 9 in the hold the hero is still looking on the wrong side of the equity pool92)A <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre> http://twodimes.net/h/?z=2119404 pokenum -mc 500000 -r 7c 5d 8h 9s ts - 2h 9d as jh 6c / jc kh 4d 5s 9c jd 8s Razz (7-card Stud A-5 Low): 500000 sampled outcomes cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV Ts 9s 7c 5d 8h 208427 41.69 291573 58.31 0 0.00 0.417 As 6c 9d Jh 2h 291573 58.31 208427 41.69 0 0.00 0.583 </pre><hr /> TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

[/ QUOTE ] A5T he is a small favorite, and against A78 the hero is still a dog, villain has a 9% equity edge. I'm really surprised by this thread guys... come on! Each of the respondents so far have each given great Razz advice in the past, this one really disappoints me. Your making me all sad, you got too much gamble in you and not enough logic TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] The absolute, 100% worst-case scenario on fifth street has us as less than a 2:1 dog. If the six paired him (not at all unlikely), we're a 4:1 favorite. We'd be getting 3:1 on a fifth street call if we check and he bets. Maybe I'm overlooking something (it's not the advantage that the drawing hand has on later streets; I took that into account), but if I'm not then check/folding fifth is really, really bad. |

Re: Razz hand.
*Betting* fifth is bad, but you should still check/call. He's guaranteed to bet sixth and seventh whether he bricks or doesn't (actually in that game he won't bet seventh unless he has a lock or is bluffing, and the call on the end is super profitable). This is not even that thin, it's a play that is made very routinely in that game and shows a profit.
