hey all-
my bed sucks, and instead of buying a new bed (mostly because i am unsure if i will be moving anytime soon) i was looking into featherbeds and memory foam add ons. anybody use these, and are they worth the money? ![]() ![]() |

We used a foam add-on for a year. Pretty decent. Then we bought a tempurpedic and never looked back

sublime, click on any of the NSFW threads, and you'll find plenty of examples of good mattress enhancers.

I once slept on a bed with one of those egg carton foam add-ons. I got off the bed in the middle of the night to sleep on the floor because I was in such pain.

I have heard that anything less than 3" of the memory foam topper sucks.

Honestly, any sort of topper you buy is really just going to be a stop gap until you get a new bed. The support that a bad bed provides can't be masked by any sort of topper. We tried the same thing for a while, egg crate topper, featherbed topper, etc, etc. It was comfortable when going to sleep, but when I would wake up in the morning my back was pretty much always sore.
So, we're new owners of a Temperpedic as others have also mentioned and endorsed. We have no topper of any kind on it at all, just the bed sheet. And it's far more comfortable than what we had before. I really don't wake up sore anymore, I'm a believer in it. I would say investing in a good bed is well worth it. Just think about the cost amortized over 10 years or so, considering how much of your life you spend sleeping, it's worth the investment. |

We have one of the memory foam pads on our bed and it is great! I was pretty skeptical at first but was converted pretty quick.
Got ours at Costco! |
