WPT/PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2007/Frist Legislation.
PokerStars had recently put up a webpage announcement for their PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2007 (PCA2007). Now since the Frist Legislation they took down the announcement and the PCA2007 seems to be on hold. Also, the PCA2007 was supposed to be a WPT event, but the WPT is making statements that seem hostile to (non-WPT/in U.S.-) online poker, so you wonder how WPT and PokerStars (and other online poker sites) could even work together at this point.
What is going on? What will happen? I would love concrete information, but even wild speculation is better than a vacuum. (Hope this is the right forum) |

Wild Speculation:
PokerStars will test the waters to see how their non-US market base will hold up without American fish. If they find a sufficient number of players to make the sponsorship and presentation of the PCA profitable then they will go ahead and continue with it, offering a non-satellite, buy-in-only way for US players to participate and satellites for non-US players. |

Re: WPT/PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2007/Frist Legislation.
Here's some wildly optimistic speculation:
1) 'stars remains open to US customers. 2) 'stars offers lots of satellites to the PCA. 3) 'stars attracts even more people to play in the PCA, as there are a few people who move over from party or whatever other sites closed. 4) 'stars has a hookers 'n' blow party for supernova VIPs; I will get ridiculously wasted at this party, and make an ass of myself. I continue to do so throughout the entire PCA trip. 5) 'stars will let me run good throughout the entirety of the PCA. 6) 'stars lets me run so good that I, in fact, win the PCA. 7) I say "lol donkaments" at the final table. |
