Default Spontaneous Lying

So on Friday I woke up really early, like early before my alarm went off early. I decided, in a very unusual move, to pick up my dry cleaning and then take a shower. See there was this shirt I wanted to wear that day but it was at the cleaners. So I walk in to the dry cleaners in jeans and T-shirt and what remains of my hair sprouting off in all different directions. The dry cleaner lady starts laughing her azz off at me. She wants to know why I'm not going to work today. Instead of telling the truth I made up a lie about how I have to fly out of town on business later in the morning and I needed to pick my cleaning before I packed, bla, bla, bla...

I have no idea why I did this. I guess the truth was just too weird or would require more explanation. I couldn't tell her to mind her business because she is very nice and does her job very well. This is the same one who kept pressing me on why I wasn't going to church on Easter Sunday.

I did something like this with my doctor. I told him I worked from home doing websites and ebay and stuff, which is not entirely untrue but it amounts to about 2 hours a week vs 20 for poker. I just didn't want to explain how it all worked, and I know he would have been interested and wanted to know all about it. As it was he kept asking me how I keep myself from being lazy and not doing any work.

Edit: oh and last week a woman at a party asked what i did. I almost wanted to lie but couldn't bring myself to do it. I still got her number though so its all good.

CC - no. She's nice to everybody. It kinda cheapens her niceness.
