Default People\'s thoughts on Strassa\'s call with 88 on the 1.5 mil all-in

Would you call, and what do you think of his call?

i assume strassa has his reasons for calling since he's been playing with the guy for an extended period of time...also this doesn't deserve it's own thread.

it was one of those mutual destruction hands... for metagame? Spitecall, like in a SNG someone calls your push w/ 98s so you don't keep pushign into them in other tournies...

sappy and strassa have a history, with strassa pwnign sappy on more than one occasion in big sunday MTT's w/ very marginal plays....

it seems like a v loose call vs sappy's range.... i don't think sappy is pushing A8, or even AJ....

WTF.... eight eight!!!!

haha no wonder you guys suck vs ratholers...

I havent watched the ft at all but strassa is probably raising a
whole hell of alot so people will play back at him with a bunch of hands.

Sappy coulda easily been pushing 22+ Ax+ throw in some 78s into the mix and it's a pretty obvious call.

what kinda impressed me was strassa called in like 5 seconds

edit: yeah, strassa has been raising a ton, he played the bubble so well, and is tearing it up... if he folds there maybe he loses momentum etc.

people had been reraising strasser's opens all day and strassa wasn't giving up on his "children", either 4-bet pushing or calling and out playing them on the flop. I assume that strassa interpreted the overbet push as a high-cards type hand that didn't want to make a standard reraise to call and whiff the flop (or get 4-bet off the hand ).
