Retarded floor? Retarded player (me?) Both?
So I raise A5o in EP full table of 5/10. I make it like $50 or $60, obviously an expert play. There's two callers and a guy with $10 in (limped) tosses a hundred chip in. Doesn't say anything.
Dealer declare raise to $110. Everyone in the pot, including the player who tossed in the chip explains to him that it's a call. He says "well he just threw it in and didn't say anything, it's a raise". Floor is called over, the situation is explained, he seems unsure but eventually rules it as a call. Whatever. Dealer seems bitter. We try to explain to him the one chip rule, he pretty much ignores us and says "you don't know what's going on". Next hand, on the flop some guy puts a $100 bill into the pot. People will often do this saying "$50 or $75" so I ask the dealer how much the bet is. He snaps "Well he put a hundred dollar bill in how much do you think it is?" The floor is standing right there and I snap back raising my voice "I asked to know exactly how much the bet is, do I not have a right to know?" The floor says "well, you guys are so clever, you go figure it out". What is my play? The game is super juicy but I am a little tilty. This isn't vegas and it's basically the only spot for the games I want (5/5 NL+), except for a town 4 hours away. |

The floor says "well, you guys are so clever, you go figure it out". What is my play? [/ QUOTE ] Tell him that the standard rule is that the bet is $100 (from your description I am assuming his was the first bet on the flop). Rbt's Rules: 12. A bet of a single chip or bill without comment is considered to be the full amount of the chip or bill allowed. However, a player acting on a previous bet with a larger denomination chip or bill is calling the previous bet unless this player makes a verbal declaration to raise the pot. (This includes acting on the forced bet of the big blind .) That's "by the book". If you don't want the bet to be $100, toss in $10 (the minimum) without saying anything. |

Wouldn't that just lose me my $10? |

Jerk with the $100 bill or the idiot floor says "The bet is $100", you reach over and take your $10 back and say "You told me to figure it out. I figured the bet was $10. I fold" Key is, you don't say 'Call'. |

You CANNOT take money out of the pot after you put it in. This is like rule #1 of casino poker.

The floor says "well, you guys are so clever, you go figure it out". [/ QUOTE ] Wow. The closest I've heard to this is an super old archived 2+2 story from I think Mason regarding the floor at the old Caesars Palace room after a huge argument broke out at a table. The floor just walked away saying "if you guys want to yell and scream you can settle this yourselves". ~ Rick |

Many times a player doesn't see a raise and just puts in the call of the lower amount and he is allowed to take the money back and fold. This happens all the time. No big deal. |
