Flopped set on a monotone board
Villain is unknown. I'm just curious as to my line so far and how you would proceed on the turn.

Re: Flopped set on a monotone board
I always wonder how to play these as well,
my normal line is to push on turn. I go broke here, but i'm not sure of the best way as you often find your self against a flush. I'd like to hear more commnets. |

Re: Flopped set on a monotone board
MP's preflop raise/flop check is sorta suspicious (the 3-bettor had already checked, after all), and now he's donking small on a blank?
I guess I push and hope it's KQ or the naked A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] or 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or something. I mean, that turn lead could be a blocking bet, right? And I don't think we can count on getting paid on the river if Villain primarily has a draw (although he might let himself get stacked with KxQc or some other hand that contains top pair). |

Re: Flopped set on a monotone board
push turn.
a flush is always calling, A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]x is usually calling 22 is calling. even when we are behind now we have outs, a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on the river will bury us or kill the action often I think. |

Given the way the pre-flop action transpired, and the way villian donks the turn, this as others have mentioned is a push given whats left of your stack and the pot. Villians play does not seem indictive of a made flush, if he does have the A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] this seems like a more likely line, esp after the flop call. Given that you have shown aggression, if Villian does have a flush, he's not going to mind letting you fire at him on the turn, so why risk knocking you out? Anyway, its late and I am rambling, Push this turn. gl. |

Re: Flopped set on a monotone board
Seems like the turn bet by the MP is a blocking bet. K Qc, or KJc. I would raise on the turn to find out where you are.

Re: Flopped set on a monotone board
WTF? limidonk.
D, So far this is fine. Pushing here is a little bit of an overbet but will probably get called and will be in the lead most of the time. If not, it wont be too ar behind. |

Re: Flopped set on a monotone board
Push the turn, generally you are going to be ahead here, and even when you are not, you still have live outs.
