Default Playing on the button

A lot has been mentioned from various books including Harringtons vol 2 , how it's often times correct to limp from the button with any two cards . After all , Harrington goes into detail about how almost any two cards versus a random hand is better than 3-1 which are your odds for calling . Here is the problem with this strategy ; this would certainly be true if your opponent were to check your hand down virtually everytime . Unfortunately most poker players are not that kind to us , and so hands like 5 2 offsuit should be mucked before the flop . Yes it's true that 5 2 os will win just over 33 % of the time , but this is assuming your hand is checked down on the flop , turn and river . However , I do agree with Harrington mentioning that if you're up against aggressive opponents , then you should muck your very worst hands in heads up play .
