I was making some value bets like this against this same sort of player last night. MHIG on all of them . Other than that, I just call preflop.

I deleted my earlier post because I misread the hand and thought you were button instead of SB. I would have checked down the river in that case, but I like the river bet OOP.

Is this because we have little chance of getting BB to fold to a raise?

Arr, I misread th'and. With two scallywag limpers, it's a call, says I, but with one, I flip a dubloon.

Against 2 players this is an easy call, against one then i would probably raise from the SB

River is a bet fold IMO, this could be a weak J or a 9s just as may ways as a busted FD and ST8 draw.

Chk/call is not "bad" on the river with the Overcards if you feel you can't fold to the raise.

this is never a J or 9

also, does anyone remember a thread about a similar preflop decision? i cant remember where it was posted, but i think maybe it started out as a BBV post. it was the same thing - one limper and a small pocket pair in the small blind with a loose aggressive bb. i think it was posted either in high or medium stakes or mhush. let me know if you find it, the discussion probably pertains to this hand.
