KQs tough river call (100nl - live)
I must admit I am more of a 5-10 limit player but thought I'd give no limit a go when my table at the casino went tight. I'd had a bit of luck and had about 450 when this hand happened.
BLinds 1-2 principal players Hero SB $450 KQs Villain UTG $260 Other players all had around $100 or so. The table is somewhat loose, esp preflop, but also slightly on the aggresive side postflop. I had some history with the villain as about 10 minutes earlier he caught me bluffing into a big pot with a busted flush draw, when he called with middle pair. Anyway there are 6 limpers to me in the SB and I raise, making it $10 to go. Villain, a mp player and the button call. Flop is K 5 8r I bet $30, only the villain calls Turn is a J I bet 60 River is another J I check, and villain very quickly moves all in for another 150 What do you reckon fellas? call or fold. OR should I just stick to limit? |

You bet to much on the flop, the most you should do is halve it. I woulda checked. Your SB, and going 3/4 into 3 people who called your raise. Bad move.

Re: KQs tough river call (100nl - live)
I was looking more for advice on the turn and river (and possibly preflop as well) but ok.
Does anybody else think I bet too much on the flop? My thinking is that I have top pair with a good kicker and am very likely winning so I bet 3/4 of the pot for value, but am not too worried if everyone folds. With respect, checking seems like the last thing I'd want to do. Please any input on the turn and river would be helpful. |
