Re: Big Pot,, River Action
Check/raise the flop. Don't really understand why you didn't.
e: If you wait for the turn you are basically always putting in two bets with the worst hand. |

Check/raise the flop. Don't really understand why you didn't. [/ QUOTE ] I am not disagreeing with you, just asking what check raising will accomplish. I have no backdoor draw besides 2 pair or trips. I am most likely behind and am only calling the flop to improve. I understand the similar hand in SSHE but am not sure if it applies here. Also with TPTK, I am not worried about an ace falling as I dominate AK and AQ now. The flush draws will not be making a mistake calling 2 cold. My plan was to see the flop action and perhaps checkraise the turn. |

Re: Big Pot,, River Action
As played, I would bet the river. I would have folded PF though.

Re: Big Pot,, River Action
I'm going to play devils advocate here with a dif line you guys might like.
Donk the flop, if button raises (after your bet + 2 calls)we can narrow his range to include mostly overpairs + AKdiamonds. Then we call for odds and reeval on turn. If you donk and he just calls we can put him on a bigger range which includes hands you beat. As for the others, who knows. You may end up getting raped by someones set. Your hand is quite vulnurable here. You can avoid these difficult situations by not coldcalling 3 bets with AJs. More often than not you end up dominated, some times even 2way dominated (you - AJ, vs AK vs QQ) forcing you to catch 2 pair. The biggest mistake by far is the preflop call if only because it opens you up to losing more bets when you catch a small piece of the flop. |

Re: Big Pot,, River Action
yes, cr the flop. you have TPTK. without reads im not putting these guys on AA-QQ just yet. knock out the Ks and Qs that might call for one on the flop but fold for two. AK, AQ might hang in there anyway but they are only drawing to 3 outs most of the time so thats ok.
