Default Home Upgrades

Im really getting into fixing up my house but dont want to spend a ton of money. Ive had an estimate on wood floors and its about $15000 for 1500 sf. Is that a good price? Also, what are some quick cheap things I can do to make it more pleasing to the eye and to live in. Thanks

That seems way high for me unless you are getting some really expensive materials. In my area you can get nice wood floors installed under $7 sq/ft.

IMO, after re-painting, installing new baseboards and crown molding are the easiest way to fix a place up cheap.

Nice double-paned windows?

PG&E (west coast utility company) no longer offers a rebate for doing this, but your energy company may.

Either way, you will save on heating & cooling costs as well as increase the value of your home.

edit: oh wait, your said 'quick & cheap' huh?

Depends if you plan on staying long term or not. Consider Laminate and also new windows and new Kitchen will add to value.
