Re: (114) bet or check river AA?
I assume you don't plan on folding this river. So this check is to induce a bluff if you do so. In which case it is a very read dependent spot.
I shove or maybe 1/2 pot depending on reads. I just think he is checking too many second best hands behind and not his range doesn't consist of air enough. If the turn and river blanked off, I like a check a lot more to induce a desperate bluff from a missed flush draw. |

another argument for checking is that sometimes a flush will let me off easy and make a small bet.

I don't know if I like betting this turn? I like C/Ring better. Or obviously it checks through, and you can value/block bet the river.

(I'm assuming you mean if we bet and villian raises you call, right? As apposed to C/Cing.) |

i'm checking edit: i'm checkraising the turn though [/ QUOTE ] Do you think non-heart overpairs/AT are folding if we lead but betting if we check? That's about the only scenario I can see where I like the c/r better and I'm not sure how typical that is, but I think it wouldn't be very. I guess the fear of a fourth heart coming and making it impossible to be paid is a nuisance, but so is whiffing on the c/r. |

[/ QUOTE ] I think those hands call the checkraise and there are a bunch of cards we don't want to see on the river (both for getting paid and for the value of our hand). I want stacks to go in on the turn, not the river. Also, c-bet flop, check turn line looks a lot more like whiffed overcards than AA if our opponent is at least 2nd level here. |
