Default Ali/Wepner

On ESPN right now. It's worth watching just to see the afros on some of the fans. If you happened to be seated behind someone with one, you would miss the fight.

This fight is fun to watch.

Wepner does fairly well. He sure can take a punch, that's for sure. He also "knocked down" Ali. Wepner himself said it wasn't really a knockdown, but Ali fell directly after a Chucky body-blow, so the ref could not rightfully deem it a slip. Wepner is also knocked down for the first time in his career, IIRC.

BTW, did you see what Klitschko did to Byrd this week? Klitschko is a beast.

Yes I saw that fight. Is the heavyweight division that bad that this Chris Byrd could have a belt? Man, he was awful. He should definitely listen to his wife and hang em up.

How about:

Muhammad Ali vs. Japanese wrestler Antonio Inoki (highlight real)

The fight is from June 25, 1976. Ali was paid $6 million. Inoki got $4 million.

Wepner fought Andre the Giant on the undercard.

I see the poster refers to Wepner as the Bayonne brawler. I thought his nickname was the Bayonne bleeder. Of course that wouldn't look too good on a poster promoting the fight, or would it?

The Andre-Wepner fight is up on YouTube.

Wepner throws a lot of punches at Andre but it doesn't seem to have a lot of effect. Andre just picked him up and threw him over the top rope. Chaos ensured.

I hate [censored] like this. If they had a real boxing match, Wepner would kick his ass.
