I have seen a few times when this has happened. Specifically when Lissandro checks his paired 8 (I believe) to Pralhad and then PF puts out a stack of chips then goes back to his stack and puts out another half stack. Did I not hear a declared amount or do they not enforce string bets?

You just didn't hear him announce it.

What they seem to be doing is announcing raise, then putting out the amount of the call, then going back and getting the raise amount. In the hands I've seen, I don't think the amount was announced until they go back after putting out the call amount. I've not played enough live poker to know if this is considered ok, or if they are in fact announcing the amount prior to putting out the call amount. |

Announcing Raise to the table and than putting out enough chips for a call, not only is OK, but it gives you a fantastic opportunity to read your opponent(s) to try and pick up some tells like how comfortable/excited are they about me making this raise?

Well ...also in this instance I believe Pralhad may have been pushing Lissandro into calling him on a string bet (I didnt hear him say raise either) because this was right after the whole near-fight over the ante chip accusation between Lissandro and Pralhad....who was relentlessly trying to push Lissandro to maximum tiltage. Not very classy but I guess all's fair in love and a $12Million war.
